Srujanalaya, The Shelter Home

Ajit Foundation is an organization that has been working since 2007 to bring underprivileged and out-of-school children into the education stream. Migrant families living outside villages or under flyovers on their bare backs have no interest in education for girls and fear sexual exploitation, child marriage, early motherhood, and many other problems girls have to face. Such girls should get an opportunity for education in childhood. From this point of view, a residential project "Srujanalaya" was started Hostel in Talegaon Dabhade (Maval Dist. Pune). Daughters of severely punished prisoners, begging kids, single parents and daughters of law-abiding parents are admitted here.

Srijanalaya is a hostel concept based on democratic design. Student hostel should be run by them. They have the right to take all judgments in a democratic manner! The final approval from the monthly budget lies in the ‘Parliament’. Many things like practical knowledge, banking transactions, study committee, mayor, corporator, shopping experience in real market, children's court, Vachan Katta, Srijan Katta and Parasbagh are being implemented in Srujanalaya. The latent abilities, energies and characteristics of the children in various experiments are identified and used in knowledge creation.

Snehgram, Democratic School

Thinking about building a democratic school of deprived children in a democratic country. Founded in 2014, The Democratic School in Korfale Tehsil- Barshi District- Solapur, Maharashtra (India) We provide a unique alternative to traditional models of education by offering children a self-directed approach to their learning. Students at our school, many of whom have slipped through the cracks of today's regimented test-driven school system, flourish in a nurturing environment that allows them the freedom to chart their own course of learning while fostering emotional growth and interpersonal skills.

At The Snehgram Democratic School, students not only learn the traditional academic subjects, but also valuable lessons about responsibility, problem solving, social justice and most importantly, how to relate to each other. We have always placed great emphasis on student's emotional well- being, fostering loving, caring relationships and developing a community of engaged learners. It is our focus on community building that encourages students to follow their dreams, contribute positively to society, and become voices for change. The Snehgram Democratic school is established at Korfale village of Solapur district. There are 50 students are enrolled in the school.
